Jake LaRavia was a sought-after commodity before the young forward agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

After seeing Dorian Finney-Smith leave town to sign with the Houston Rockets, the Lakers brought in 23-year-old forward Jake LaRavia in their first free agency signing. LaRavia is not a household name.

Forward Jake LaRavia has agreed to a two-year, $12 million deal with the Lakers, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

With their need for a center and two superstars on different timelines, the Lakers are getting lots of attention — and understandably so.

"Free agent center Clint Capela has agreed to a three-year, $21.5 million deal with the Houston Rockets, sources tell ESPN," Shams Charania of ESPN reported via X. "Major front-court addition -- and return to Houston for Capela."

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, rival teams are expecting to see the Lakers pursue Lopez when free agency opens. Even if Los Angeles does not sign him, there is a very good chance that he will sign somewhere other than with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he has played the last seven years.
