Barney McNulty, the “King of Cue Cards” who worked as Bob Hope’s solo cue-card person for 43 years, died Dec. 17 at his home in Studio City. He was 77.

A midseason replacement in January 1975 for ABC — coincidentally taking over The Odd Couple slot of 8 p.m. Thursday, Barney Miller ran until September 1982 on ABC, predominantly on Thursday nights.
