N ASCAR’s senior vice president of competition, Elton Sawyer, said too much rain fell too quickly and too late, leading to the decision to call the Coca Cola 600 with just over 150 laps remaining.

Despite rain and a windstorm that delayed the 65th running of the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday night, fans at home and the drivers at the track thought that NASCAR would at least attempt to finish the crown jewel race.

A win is a win, even if it's a rain-shortened victory. It's Bell's second win of the season and first since the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota won at Phoenix. Bell led 90 of the 249 laps at Charlotte after starting the race third. This also marks his seventh top-10 finish of the season.
