In the biggest game of the day, No. 7 Oregon handled No. 15 USC, 42-27, in Eugene on Saturday afternoon. Ducks quarterback Dante Moore completed 22 of his 30 throws for 257 yards and two touchdowns, while the defense held USC to just 52 yards rushing and forced two turnovers in the victory.
After a ho-hum Week 13 that only featured two games between two ranked opponents, there wasn't any movement in this week's top 12 projection, but there are two questions looming over the committee as they debate their fourth of six rankings to be revealed on Tuesday night (7 p.m. ET/ESPN):
Miami, as the committee's highest-ranked ACC team last week, was eliminated from reaching the league title game after SMU steamrolled Louisville and Duke toppled North Carolina. Now, Pat Narduzzi's Panthers have kickstarted a possible doomsday scenario for a conference that could be excluded from the playoff altogether in two weeks.
Week 13 was the most boring weekend of the season — by far. It had two ranked-on-ranked matchups (in Oregon-USC and Missouri-Oklahoma), and both games were decided by multiple scores. The higher-ranked team dispatched the lower-ranked opponent by doing what it does best. Ho-hum.
