The girl's father attempted to save her as she was pulled by large waves near Garrapata State Park on Friday, according to authorities. He was rescued and later died.

Though conditions began to improve on Nov. 16, forecasters warned that another storm system is expected to bring more rain on Nov. 17 and 18.

Evacuation warnings and orders have been lifted in Southern California, but areas like Malibu are preparing for more rain and potential mudslides.

An unusually powerful storm unleashed heavy rain, flooding roadways and prompting concerns about mudslides and debris flows in wildfire burn scars.

All evacuation warnings and orders in Los Angeles County have been lifted, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Capt. Brian Kight.

A storm is dropping rounds of heavy rain on more than 22 million people across Southern California on Saturday.
