USE.Natal Lily is a showy and striking addition to beds, borders, or containers and is often grown as a houseplant. Good as cut flowers too! The Natal lily (Clivia miniata) is a showy, frost-tender house plant that makes a bold feature in the home or conservatory. It bears stocky stems topped with large, rounded heads of colourful flowers, from late winter to spring. Clivia foliage is architectural and attractive year-round, with wide, dark green, strap shaped evergreen leaves. Long-lasting, the flowers are followed by ornamental red berries. When the plant is not in bloom, the lush, virtually blemish-free, evergreen foliage still provides a sculptural presence. Easily grown in bright filtered light with shade from the hot sun in well-drained soils.Water freely in summer and allow to dry for winter. The soil should be kept just moist until the flower stalk reaches 6 inches (15 cm), then water normally.
