Arizona State began the second quarter with two big plays. A 25-yard pass to McClain and a bit of trickery with a 19-yard pass to defensive lineman B Lono-Wong (who was eligible on that play). Arizona State, No. 25 in the College Football Playoff rankings, pulled away late and rolled past the Colorado Buffs, 35-17, at Folsom Field on Saturday night.
The Arizona State defense stood strong - stopping Colorado QB Julian Lewis on a fourth-and-short situation. Unfortunately, the Sun Devil offense stalled once again and was forced to punt - the ensuing Colorado drive gained the Buffaloes a touchdown drive off of a seven-yard run by Dallan Hayden.
