Boyd, 29, shared a photo of himself in the hospital on his Instagram story Wednesday, writing: "I’m coming along, starting to breathe on my own now."
The Jets' special teamer and cornerback was in critical condition Sunday after suffering a shot to the abdomen. He shared an update on social media.
Boyd was shot in the abdomen in Midtown Manhattan and rushed to the hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
In March, Boyd, a defensive cornerback and specialty teams player, signed a one-year, $1.6 million contract to play for the Jets, according to the team. He suffered a season-ending shoulder injury during team scrimmage in August and hasn't played since.
